Really get to grips with hand dovetailing or buy a dovetailing jig? This is when you need to decide; when only one or two drawers are required, it's hardly worth the expense of getting a jig.

Customers often ask for split top drawers and admittedly they do look nice. Obviously they are a lot more work but there is no reason why this kit cannot be rethought... with a couple of extra drawer sides and a runner and guides in the middle the deed is almost done.

There is another way of keeping 'his' and 'hers' apart in the top drawer region, however, just fit a central divider.

Another thing that customers are quite clear about is the depth of the drawers, they don't want shallow drawers - so we don't make them.
