Basic Furniture Projects

The four basic projects are ideal for the novice woodworker. The project manuals have detailed instructions along with explanatory colour photographs.  Drawings are provided at the end of each manual. Projects 1 and 2 (the Creepie Stool and the Corner Unit) introduce fundamental woodworking techniques and lead nicely onto Project 3 (the Bread Box) and Project 4 (the Corner Unit).

The basic projects are colour coded in green for ease of identification.

Whether you are a woodworking beginner or not, we recommend that you purchase our essential cabinet making guide, "The Background" - a guide to working with wood.

Our self assembly wooden DIY kits should not be confused with today’s flat pack furniture packages. Our purpose is to teach traditional Scottish furniture-making skills and craft techniques, therefore the wood in our kits is not ready for immediate assembly – it will require further cutting, jointing and finishing (the fun part).
